Financing from Japanese giants to the health “Renaissance” in Yozgat
Renaissance Health Investment, Inc., one of Rönesans Holding companies, has completed the works for the 475-bed Yozgat City Hospital which is the second stop point of the “City Hospitals” project. The signature ceremony of the financial closure of amount 111 million euro out of the total investment of 139 million euro in which also the two significant banks of Japan take place, was realized on June 2.
Renaissance Health Investment (RSY) which one of the significant actors of the “Public-Private-Partnership-PPP” project that has initiated an important transformation in the health sector in Turkey, is proceeding with Yozgat after Adana in its attempt of “Renaissance” in health.
RSY which has pressed the button for Yozgat just after the 1550-bed capacity Adana City Hospital that was the first stop of these investments, has expressed that it has completed satisfactorily the works conducted with the international investment funds, Meridiam Infrastructure, Sıla Group and Şam Yapı, it has selected as business partners.
The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health, Prof. Dr. Eyüp Gümüş, the Rönesans Holding Board of Directors’ President, İpek Ilıcak Kayaalp, the Renaissance Health Investment Board of Directors’ President, Kamil Yanıkömeroğlu and the executives of business partners of the Project have all joined the meeting organized on June 2 for the financial closure signature ceremony of the project. In the meeting where the investment cost of the 475-bed capacity very well equipped Yozgat City Hospital project as 139 million euro, it has been emphasized that the 111 million euro part of this would be provided from the two significant banks of Japan, Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corp (SMBC) and Bank of Tokyo Mitsubishi (BTMU) and the world giants, Siemens and Intesa.
“2 MILLION OF HEALTH TOURISTS WILL COME TO TURKEY”
The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health, Prof. Dr. Eyüp Gümüş, who has taken the word in the signature ceremony, has said that Turkey has made great progress in health in the last 10 years. Gümüş who has expressed that the past challenges have been left behind, has added, “In our country, polyclinic service is being offered to about 1 million patients daily. Unfortunately, the issue of violence also is in the agenda in the health sector. Adjusting the structure of the hospitals, structuring the spaces by proper design and taking into account all details from the beginning, will play an important role in preventing this violence”.
Gümüş who has mentioned that the city hospitals put into practice by Public-Private-Partnership (PPP) model on this subject will take Turkey a step forward in health, has continued as follows:
“We have pressed the button for a total of 34 PPP city hospitals in our country. The signatures of 17 of these have already been completed. When these investments are put into practice, our country shall have city hospitals of total 40 thousand beds capacity and equipped by state of the art technology. We are managing this process in collaboration with the most powerful firms of Turkey and international banks. We predict this would be an example model not only for Turkey but also for the whole world. We aim to bring to our country approximately 2 million travelling for health purposes by opening our these investments to health tourism.”
TO BE COMMISSIONED IN 2017
The Rönesans Holding Board of Directors’ President, İpek Ilıcak Kayaalp, who has given the good news that the Project will be completed in 2017 and the Yozgat people will gain a city hospital equipped by state-of-the art technology in its field, has said; “Our total investment cost for the Yozgat City Hospital will reach at 139 million euro. And, we have realized this Project, financing amount of which is 111 million euro, in cooperation with Meridiam Investment Fund, one of the leading investment fund in the world and Sıla Group and Şam Yapı. We are having our moments of completing satisfactorily our works also for Yozgat which is our second step after Adana. In this Project we have realized our financing cooperation with the two most significant banks of Japan, two of world’s leaders, Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corp (SMBC) and Bank of Tokyo Mitsubishi (BTMU) and with Siemens and Intesa which are also leading banks worldwide. We will very glad to work together in this big Project for 111 million euro that is the total financing amount of this Project, investment cost of which 139 million Euro”.
WE WILL CARRY ON TO BE THE SIGNIFICANT ACTOR OF THE TRANSFORMATION IN HEALTH
İpek Ilıcak Kayaalp who has pointed out “The objective of our Project is to rise both, the number of beds and the quality of health services by including a new one in the existing health facilities in Yozgat province”, has stated that they consider the public private cooperations as one of the most crucial keys in attaining sustainable and high quality health services. İpek Ilıcak Kayaalp who has expressed, “It is a very great source of pride for us to be among the actors of this importan transformation Turkey has initiated in health”, has stated that they interpret the support provided to the Project by international investment funds and financial institutions as the “confidence they have in Rönesans and Turkey” and has added:
“As Renaissance Health Investment, our objectives are not limited with only Adana and Yozgat neither. We aim a 2 billion euro investment for our projects having a total 6 thousand 818 bed capacity and 2 million square meters of construction surface area and to be implemented by public-private partnership model”

And, the Meridiam Investment Fund Business Development Director, Marco Rosso, has stated that as a firm which believes in Turkey’s economy and great future, they are glad of taking place in the Yozgat City Hospital project. Rosso who has mentioned that it bears importance for Meridiam Investment Fund , too, to be a part of this significant transformation of Turkey in health sector, has said; “We believe this Project will play a big role in developing the life and health quality of those living particularly in Yozgat and its surroundings”.
IT WILL BECOME ONE OF THE MOST EXTENSIVE CITY HOSPITALS
The Yozgat City Hospital which will come into operation within 2 years, shall be implemented by Project Public Private Partnership (PPP) investment-financing model. And, the operating period of the Project has been determined as 25 years. The Health Campus shall have a total construction area of approximately 140.000 square meters. When Yozgat City Hospital which has 113 polyclinic rooms, 15 operating rooms, emergency service, intensive care unit, angio, chemotherapy, endoscopy, nuclear medicine units, physiotherapy and haemodialysis center, radiology division and advanced level pathology division, would begin to operate with full capacity, it shall possess a hardware that could meet the health service requirement of Yozgat province and its surroundings on the leading edge.
Renaissance Health Investment, one of the Rönesans Holding companies, is planning to make a total investment of amount 2 billion euro under scope of Public Private Partnership model described as implementing long term maintenance, operating and construction services of public infrastructure investments by private sector. In addition to Adana, Bursa, Elazığ, Yozgat, the hospitals cover physical therapy and rehabilitation hospitals and psychiatry hospitals to be put into practice separately in form of a package in Afyon, Diyarbakır, Erzurum, İstanbul, Malatya, Samsun, Trabzon and Van.
